My sister found a poang chair & I found a cd stand on craigs list. Got both $50.
I have "fixed" my neighbors tv/cable a couple times & they gave Myst a toy (I coulda used some food!)
We have been HOT and bored from being hot My phone answering machine will NOT record a message from my x. It will not even display that a call was received!!! Everyone else,even fuzzy connections are recorded & displayed. But his gets "beeped" --cut off mid-sentence, and the call is not acknowledged! EVERY TIME. My aunt says I have an incredible guardian angel.... I agree. July 17 Bugs I went outside & sat on a park bench for a while & spoke to a couple residents. On the 9th floor they were fumigating for BED BUGS!!! Just then a pickup truck drove by full of furniture wrapped in plastic towards the dumpsters. YUCK  .I also found out that they are replacing the drafty widows in my building & are on the 16th floor & moving down quickly! They said it takes only a few hours for them to grind out the old ones & screw/caulk in the new ones! I see the guys every night around 10-11pm discarding old ones and bringing in the new. Getting ready for the next day...I am pretty nervous about having strangers in here-but I will just be prepared & get all my private stuff put away. In the meantime I am researching a better diet for my cat. It turns out that commercial cat foods-even Iams & Science diet are bad in that they contain lots of corn, carbs & plant protein. Cats are carnivores and dry food is higher in calories than canned- And neither contain much in the way of real meat! After I pay this months credit card bill, I am bringing her to a veterinarian. I haven't found one yet that specializes in cardiology - but I am going to make this a priority. Suddenly this month & this past week she seems to be worse. Tiring more easily & having what I think is a 'cardio cough'. Meanwhile I am looking into a raw diet for her-or at least adding some into her canned food. http://www.rawfedcats.org/practicleguide.htm July 13 One Step at a TimeStumbling through each day... One day at a time to get through my guilt. It has been a week since Owen is gone. Fighting PTSD and the tendency to drink too much at night & spend it hovering over the toilet. I am quite self conscious about telling you all this - no body likes a "bummer post" or one that seems to reak of self pity... so I'll go on to other topics- Brought my mom to her local fireworks last night with my sister. It was a good thing I brought a blanket even though it was a hot sultry night-mom needed it! She looked like an old indian woman wrapped in the mexican blanket. I bought my sister a flashing LED necklace which she was surprised and happy about the fun of it :) We had fun wrapping them around our ankles.. At my sister's house she had a big old stereo set she had been given-tape deck,cd, and radio receiver w/4 speakers. She just couldn't get the radio to work-so I pulled it out & examined the back. Everything seemed hooked up right-so I plugged them all in & turned on the radio- it scanned & scanned...I said to her that it was acting like it needed an antennae. I went to the back of it again & noticed this little clip on the power wire- hmmm, Odd... I took it & screwed it into the "antennae" connector...Suddenly- BLAAAAASSSSTING MUSIC!!!! She came bounding into the room & gave me joyous hugs-'Thank you thank you!!!" She was SO happy!! ok, back to the couch..ttyl.
may owen have found peace... July 10 Microsoft update killing internet access If you have free or paid Zone Alarm and got the last update from Microsoft you problably lost your internet. ZoneAlarm is looking into it right now. In the mean time remove the update= Go to your control panel then Add Remove programs click the little check box at the top to "show updates" Find the date it happened and hit remove- restart- Windows will imediately bug you to install the update again- so maybe before you do this you should shut off the auto update for a day or two- But be careful to turn it back on! Hopefully zonealarm will fix this before anyone's computer gets hurt. May owen's soul have found peace.... July 06 Owen OWEN HAS BEEN MISSING FOR 24 HOURS........................................... A safe and happy weekend for you all!!! June 27 The post below The reason I wrote the post below is because you wondered how /why in the world I would go over my x's house to clean... The first reason was to see my baby owen- The second is because of my past history. It doesn't diminish the pain, but it makes it so that I can stand aside and look at it- and where the people were coming from... * Yesterday I worked outside pulling wisteria at the elderly woman's house-It was SO hot & humid! After I left there I visited Owen and was shocked to find he had lost 5 pounds!!!! This big boy was a bag of bones!  He must have worms.... I then visited a friend down the road who had gotten a kitten from the same farm as I did. She was a real Cutie, Being a good aunt I brought a new bed & some toys for her... She doesn't have a name yet- He cooked us steak, corn,roasted peppers&onion,rice,broccoli- all really grreat! June 26 Believe it or notI am the daughter of an abusive mother... And father. Because my siblings were 10years older than I - The easy target to unleash their anger from being in a home like this, was to take it out on me.... I am the only one who has chosen to love...and not let all of this have power over me. peace, Jadey June 24 Today With MomI went to lunch at the senior center with my mom today- $2.50 for chicken, rice mix,greenbeans w/mushrooms,bread & desert! I was stuffed! I was pissed at some nasty old bat breaking my mom's balls because she only goes to lunch if there is chicken.Grrrrr! Anyways, after we left I asked her what she wanted to do & she said 'go to the beach!" So I took her to Jacobs beach...there was some chicky sitting there expecting to collect money from me -are you freakin' kidding me?- Mom said just go! So I didn't look her way & went & parked :) I had mom take her knee-high stockings with the hole in the toe off and we walked to the beach. I had her take her sandals off and she squealed at the chill of the water... I rolled our pants up and I saw the biggest Horseshoe crab I have ever seen-It was as big as a basket ball!!! Definitely a female -I LOVE those things, they were around before the dinosaurs.... So, it was a nice time just sitting in the sand, our feet in the water. June 21 What I have been doing Got a Dell Inspiron 530Core 2 Duo desk top computer. Booted it up with my FREE Operating system "Ubuntu" It partitioned the hard drive to dual boot with XP and Ubuntu, allowing me to choose how much space for both. It configured it's own 'swap' files and everything! Yes, for free people!! And this is just a taste of what I can do..... Now, some may not care about "eyecandy" But what impresses ME is that MINE does all these things and the CPU barely even registers activity!! (pictures from a local Osprey webcam I watch) June 13 But MOMMmmmmm !It has turned out to be a good and bad thing I got Myst a fish for her birthday... I don't mind her wrapping her paws around the vase in mock attack- trying to play with the creature inside. I don't even mind the occasional paw dabbing at the surface- But the drinking and splashing are not acceptable!!!! For a while I have had a plastic dome over the top from the bakery. But she has since found out how to knock that off in the middle of the night. Last night I heard the top hit the floor and yelled out 'NO' and put a plate on top. Well, this morning I woke to find a Giant Mess from her splashing the water out of her waterbowl ALL over, even her dryfood was mush!!! P.U! Even my little fountain was almost empty ! I wonder if they have kiddy pools for kitties.
